GPS signal issues - how to get the best reception for the GPS NTP Time Server

GPS synchronisation should be fairly straightforward, providing the antenna has a good view of the sky. As a rule of thumb, the better the view of the sky the better the chances of a consistant signal lock. Synchronisation should take about 5 minutes with a good view of the sky, longer with an obscured view. Also, cable distance is critical, provided the supplied coax cables have been used, this should not be an issue.
