Galleon produces the most Comprehensive set of GPS Time Servers in the World
Galleon has a line of NTP time servers that synchronise by using satellites
that constantly orbit the earth. Each of the 24 satellites that are orbitng the planet
to support the Global Positioning System (GPS) are fitted with three
atomic clocks, each one of these clocks provide time accuracy to one millionth of a second.
|
|
Galleon's NTP time servers synchronise with the clocks found on the satellites,
these clocks are accurate to approximately one millionth of a second to UTC. Each
networked system can then synchronise with the Galleon device as often as is
programmed for. This all happens behind the firewall, which means there's
no need to access Internet-based time. The role of time servers is to acquire
time so that this time can be synchronised on an IT system or network.
The vast majority of time servers available on the market today are NTP
(Network Time Protocol) network time servers.
